The guide
Staff
Front desk, housekeeping, kitchen, bar, concierge, spa — everybody who works the shift. A minute at the end of the shift, and your good work stops disappearing.
Your good shifts are written down, and they count toward your next level.
You always know the next step in your career. Nobody ranks you against anybody.
Your mood is yours alone, and a flag you raise carries no name.
Your first day: the entry code
Nobody signs you up by email. Your manager hands you a code, and you choose your own password on your own phone.

Two minutes, and nobody at the hotel ever knows your password — not even whoever gave you the code.
Your home screen
Open KMBRLY on your phone and the day is already there: your shift, your Kindex and the one thing to do before you leave.

Everything that concerns you on one screen, made to be used with one thumb.
The shift debrief
Four short screens at the end of the shift. Each one tells you, at the moment it asks, who will see the answer.

The only place a good shift gets written down — and the source your Kindex is built from.
If several shifts in a row are hard, KMBRLY asks you whether you want your manager to know. Nothing is sent unless you say yes, and even then not what you answered.
Your rota
Your week at a glance, and the requests you send your manager.

No more photos of a paper rota in a group chat, and no request lost in a pocket.
A request, start to finish
A day off is two dates and a sentence. The answer comes back to your phone.

A written answer, with a date, instead of “I’ll think about it”.
Thanks
Recognition between colleagues, in writing, where the whole department can see it.

A thank-you counts for more when it is seen — and colleague recognitions are one of the things Level 3 asks for.
Writing a recognition
Who, what for, and one sentence in your own words.

No quota and no target: nobody is asked to thank ten people a month.
Your career
Five gates for every level, all written down. You can see exactly what is missing, and nothing is left to anybody’s mood.

A career you can see, measured the same way for everyone on your department.
If you work part-time, the shifts the level asks for are in proportion to your contracted hours.
The ladder
Four levels, from Foundations to Supervisor-ready, and then a position when one is free.

You know where you are going, and how long the road usually is.
Your month, and your certificate
Your Kindex against your own start of the month, your next step, and a certificate that stays yours.

Progress you can prove, that belongs to you and not to the hotel.
What every level asks for
One page with the criteria of every level, the same for everybody on your department.

No criterion you cannot read. Days off never count against you, and the night shift can be observed like any other.
Me
Your profile, your mentor, your preferences and your data.

The app speaks your language and stays silent when you are off.
Your data
Everything KMBRLY holds about you, written to be read on a phone, not by a lawyer.

Nothing is collected about where you are, what is on your phone, or how long you spend in the app.
Supervisor
You know every morning who to observe, on what, and who has gone too long without a thank-you.
